Two garters featured on Boho Bride

i love it when my garters are featured on  wedding blog, even better when its a bride-to-be wedding blog!
Check out http://www.bohobride.co.uk/ for her great ideas for her wedding she wants to share with other brides to achieve a beautiful wedding without blowing the bank account!

'Sarah Evetts – Creator and Writer of Boho Bride

I’m a twenty-something, Devon based bride-to-be, who’s aim is to create a wedding day that is relaxing, beautiful and above all reflects me and my man as a couple…without breaking the bank!

Boho Bride (a name my Mum affectionately gave me, after bashing heads over wedding plans…) was launched in Oct 2010 as a place to share my design ideas with other Brides-to-be and those who simply love beautiful aesthetics and design!

After ‘treading the boards’ for a few years, I worked until recently, as a Home Designer for a well known UK department store – so my B’Maids thought it would be funny if I channeled my wedding ‘visions’ into creating mood boards for them…

This planted the seed in my mind, that while I might have a clear design direction that I want to push our wedding towards – others might not. In short, my aim is that Boho Bride offers you a little inspiration for your special day.

NEW - Ring Pillows and Garter/Ring Pillow Sets

Well ive started making ring pillows i seem to see the same old pillows out there, white satin with a coloured ribbon and GIANT coloured flower in the middle, vcery pretty but a bit boring seeing everyone doing it. So ive chosen the more elegant traditional road but always with a modern twist. So NO TACKY ring pillows in my store!!!!! heres only a few, i have more to photograph.

How to Wear a Garter

So you planning your big day, you know your dress would tradtionally be a white/ivory, you'll probably have a cake with icing, flowers you love in the colours you love etc. But wait the garter, where does that go???
Which leg does it have to be on. Do i have to wear it all day? Do i have to do the garter toss?

The answer to all these is do want you want! Its your wedding day, make it your own. The garter is normally worn about 4-5 inches above the top of your knee (10-13cm) Being said you can wear it lower/higher if its more comfortable that way. After all its not everyday you wear something around your leg! So number one is comfort on your big day. Its a long day with lots of waling sitting, standing for photos and dancing. I good way to get used to wearing it if you are concerned it just to wear it around the house a few times before the wedding, like you would with your wedding shoes to break them in, break in your garter.

Next is which leg to wear it on... doesnt matter! Wear it one which ever one feels more natural. I automaticall go for my writing side of my body, but everyones different. Theres no bad luck for wearing it on the wrong side. Remember, garters are only a evolution of medieval weddings wear guests would ripe parts of the brides dress off to take home for good luck. Dont think anyone would be happy about that now-a-days. So the garter replaces this.

Your dont have to wear your garter all day, just before your garter toss you can slip it on if you like. And you dont even have to do the garter toss. I have many brides just wanting to buy a single main garter http://www.etsy.com/shop/NatalieBriggs?section_id=7592777 with no toss garter to have during the day as they love the look of garters and having one as a heirloom keepsake but dont enjoy the garter toss. THIS IS TOTALLY FINE.

Remember, its YOUR day, you dont have to do anything you dont want to do, or what others tell you you should do. Make it yours and make it great :) and you'll remember it always.
